Cyd Maurer is a former news anchor for KEZI 9 News in Eugene, Oregon. An Oregon native and graduate of the University of Oregon, Cyd was well-liked and respected at the station until she was unjustly fired for her personal marijuana use. Although her supervisors had only good things to say about her, Cyd was the victim of an outdated, unscientific corporate policy. Rather than just taking another corporate job, she decided to go public with her story and went from local news anchor to cannabis activist. By coming out of the cannabis closet herself, Cyd is committed to ending the negative stigma surrounding marijuana use and bringing more freedom and equality to the cannabis community.
